Cancer on the rise globally as developing nations eat American foods and use American products

Cancer rates are increasing worldwide but especially in economically developing countries, according to a report released by the American Cancer Society in honor of World Cancer Day and published in CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians.

According to the report, an estimated 12.6 million new cases of cancer were diagnosed in 2008, and 7.6 million people died from cancer. The majority of those cases – 7.1 million and 4.8 million, respectively – occurred in economically developing countries. The spread of an “affluence” disease such as cancer to poorer countries can be attributed to the increasing adoption of unhealthy behaviors such as smoking, sedentism and poor diet.

The researchers noted that one-third of the cancer deaths in 2008 could have been prevented by simple measures such as people quitting smoking, drinking less, eating better, exercising more and reducing infection risk. That would have saved 7,300 lives per day.

In the developed world, only 10 percent of cancers are caused by infection, but 25 percent are caused by infection in the developing world.

“The worldwide application of existing cancer control knowledge according to the capacity and economic development of countries or regions could lead to the prevention of even more cancer deaths in the next two to three decades,” said Otis W. Brawly of the American Cancer Society. “In order to achieve this, however, national and international public health agencies, governments, donors, and the private sectors must play major roles in the development and implementation of national or regional cancer control programs worldwide.”

The most common cancers among men in economically developed countries are prostate, lung and colorectal cancers, while breast, colorectal and lung cancers are the most common types in women. In developing countries, cancers of the lung, stomach and liver are the most common types in men, while breast, cervical and lung cancers are the most common in women.

This grim picture is only expected to worsen, with cancer rates expected to increase nearly 100 percent by 2030 due to worsening lifestyle factors and a growing, aging world population.

Yoga improves mood, reduces inflammation and relieves chronic diseases

As it turns out, yoga is no longer just a gentle stretching for aging hippies. Ongoing research shows that this ancient ritual improves mood, helps breast cancer survivors, reduces inflammation and counteracts fibromyalgia.

It’s common knowledge that yoga improves mood and shrugs off stress, but until recently, we didn’t know why. Chris Streeter, MD, and his colleagues from Boston University School of Medicine discovered that it may be because of yoga’s ability to increase levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an endogenous antidepressant neurotransmitter present in the brain.

They followed several healthy individuals who were divided into two groups. The first group practiced yoga over a 12-week long period, while the participants in the other group walked for the same period of time. At the end of the study, researchers evaluated psychological state of both groups and found that subjects who practiced yoga experienced a greater decrease in anxiety and more significant improvements in mood than those who walked.

“Over time, positive changes in these reports were associated with climbing GABA levels,” explains Streeter. The findings of the study demonstrate that yoga is superior to other types of exercise in its positive effects on anxiety and overall mood.

Yoga reduces inflammation and helps chronically ill

According to last year’s studies, yoga exercises may have the ability to improve recovery of breast cancer survivors and combat fibromyalgia:

  • Conventional cancer treatments leave many women in pain, immobilized, depressed and tired. That’s why Amy Speed-Andrews from University of Alberta decided to examine how a 10-week session of Iyengar yoga makes a difference in the recovery of women struggling with breast cancer. The results were impressive as 94 percent of study participants experienced improvements in their quality of life and 87 percent reported being happier. 80 percent also said they were less tired.
  • Fibromyalgia is a medical disorder characterized by fatigue and chronic widespread pain. Fortunately, the journal Pain published a study comparing 53 female subjects that proved that an eight-week yoga program can combat a wide variety of fibromyalgia symptoms. Participants of the study experienced a reduction in depression (up to 42 percent), pain (24%) and fatigue (30%).

Furthermore, yoga also reduces the amount of cytokine interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the blood. This compound is associated with the body’s inflammatory response and plays one of the key roles in a host of debilitating diseases. “We know that inflammation plays a major role in many diseases. Yoga appears to be a simple and enjoyable way to add an intervention that might reduce risks for developing heart disease, diabetes and other age-related diseases,” says Ron Glaser, a co-author of a study that revealed the link between yoga and inflammation.

For the study, the scientists analyzed blood samples of 50 women, age 41 on average. As a result, those who had regularly practiced yoga for one or two years had significantly lower levels of inflammation than novices. They were also better able to limit their stress responses, too.

“People need to be educated about this,” says Bill Malarkey, one of the co-authors of the study. “They need to be taking responsibility for their health and how they live. Doing yoga and similar activities can make a difference.”

Japan halts vaccines from Pfizer, Sanofi after deaths of 4 children

The deaths just keep mounting all across the world: Children are collapsing into comas and then dying, just minutes after receiving combination vaccines that have been deceptively marketed as “completely safe.” Last year, Australia temporarily banned flu vaccines in children after they were found to have caused vomiting, fevers and seizures (http://www.naturalnews.com/029586_A…).

Today the damage from vaccines is emerging in Japan, where the health ministry has suspended the use of vaccines from Pfizer and Sanofi-Aventis following the deaths of four children there who died within minutes after receiving these vaccine shots.

All four children received combination vaccines, where multiple shots are combined into one high-potency injection. MMR is another example of a combination vaccine shot that combines vaccines for measles, mumps and rubella. There is very strong evidence that vaccines are far more dangerous when given in combination than when given one at a time (http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=60825…). (http://www.naturalnews.com/030678_M…)

The great vaccine damage cover-up

What will now happen in Japan is that a group of vaccine safety experts will meet to discuss the vaccines, and no doubt most of the members of that group will be paid off by Big Pharma. Within a day or two, a statement will be issued that states there is “no causal relationship exists between vaccines and child deaths” and the vaccine program will continue as usual. The ongoing deaths of children will be ignored or explained away as “mere coincidence.”

How many coincidences does it take to make a pattern? If you’re one of the brainwashed vaccine zealots, there is never a pattern. ALL deaths are automatically considered “coincidence,” no matter how many occur or how frequently they appear. A true scientist, of course, would observe the pattern and realize there is a cause-and-effect phenomenon taking place. But then again, vaccine zealots are nothing like real scientists. They are propagandists.

This is how the vaccine industry operates every day: Lie to the public that the vaccines are 100% safe and effective, then deny any hint of vaccines causing damage to anyone. It’s a double-layer deception. First, there’s the deception that vaccines are safe (they aren’t, and the vaccine industry refuses to subject them to scientific clinical trials versus non-vaccinated children in order to prevent this truth from coming out), and secondly that vaccines don’t damage anyone. That’s yet another lie: Vaccines cause untold damage to the neurology of children and adults alike.

Children are routinely killed by vaccines, and vaccines are being pushed in the false context that presumes vaccines are the only way to protect children from infectious disease in the first place. Nutrition actually works better, and it doesn’t kill children. But that’s not the choice presented to parents. The choice is either vaccination or non-vaccination. The choice is never presented as vaccination or vitamin D supplementation, is it?

The real cost in human suffering

If vaccines are so safe, then why do so many healthy young children suddenly collapse into autism in the hours or days following vaccination? Why is this neurological damage a global phenomenon that almost always occurs in children who are vaccinated? Why are non-vaccinated children so much healthier, more vibrant, more intelligent and more immune to infectious disease?

The vaccine industry doesn’t want you to ask these questions. You’re supposed to just accept their propaganda, take your shot, and keep coming back for more, year after year. If your child gets autism, it your fault, not theirs (according to them). If your child collapses into a coma and dies, you have no legal recourse because the U.S. Supreme Court has made it illegal to sue for damages from vaccine companies (http://www.naturalnews.com/031453_S…).

The entire medical system has been configured to suppress vaccine lawsuits and deny the evidence of vaccine damage and death. The court system denies justice to anyone whose children are damaged or killed by vaccines. And parents who question the safety of vaccines are ridiculed by doctors and even called “baby killers” by Bill Gates, who has funneled tens of billions of dollars into mass vaccination campaigns despite the fact that vaccines are killing children.

Of course, the vaccine industry claims its vaccines are saving far more children than they are killing (they claim their vaccines kill exactly zero children, by the way — a number that is an obvious lie). But even this argument falls flat when you consider that using nutrition to enhance immune function is far more effective than using vaccines. Even the Nobel prize winning Luc Montagnier, co-discoverer of the AIDS virus, says you can cure AIDS with a strong, healthy immune system (http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=BAFF5…). Much the same is true with nearly every other common infectious disease: Strong immune function resists infection far better than any vaccine. Vitamin D, for example, also works to prevent tuberculosis. The CDC has never admitted it publicly, of course, because the CDC is a political organization that protects the profits of the vaccine makers.

When it comes to what’s real versus what’s just corporate propaganda, one thing is certain: Scientific facts have never stood in the way of vaccine profits. The vaccine industry has become an unstoppable death machine based on non-existent science and arrogant quackery. It has become a huge profit center for the medical industry, of course, because much of the damage caused by vaccines results in future medical care profits that feed the drug companies (http://naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=BAE7F…).

What’s clear from all this is that vaccines are great at one thing: Population control.

“The world today has 6.8 billion people… that’s headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.” – Bill Gates (http://www.naturalnews.com/029911_v…)

As of this week, the population of children in Japan has been reduced by four. And more vaccine-induced deaths are no doubt happening all across the world that go unreported or are intentionally censored out the medical records.

How to control type 2 diabetes in three steps

Mainstream medicine still claims that there is no cure for diabetes. However, many people are curing this debilitating condition every day. This article explains how it is possible and outlines three action steps that you can take to prevent or even reverse type 2 diabetes naturally.

In diabetes, glucose builds up in the bloodstream because it’s having trouble getting into the cells where it belongs. As a result, it may damage blood vessels of your organs such as kidneys and heart. But why is that? Glucose uses insulin to open channels in the cell’s outer membrane so that it can pass through. The problem is that during diabetes insulin is no longer able to open up the cell. Suddenly, you may start experiencing unusual thirst, extreme hunger, fatigue, blurred vision and other symptoms of type 2 diabetes. The following three steps will allow you to control diabetes more effectively:

Improve your diet. Stop eating all refined sugars, processed foods and dairy products. Start consuming fresh whole foods high in fiber. These dietary modifications will help you balance your blood sugar, reduce inflammation and turn on all the right gene messages that are necessary for controlling diabetes.

Keep off the excess weight. Most people with diabetes are overweight or obese. Exercise can help with weight loss and improve insulin sensitivity. It’s simple – regular physical activity is a powerful way to reduce blood sugar and reduce your risk of complications. Talk to your health care provider about what kind of exercise is appropriate for you. Even a 30 minute walk a day can have a huge impact on controlling type 2 diabetes.

Embrace the power of herbs. Diabetes symptoms can be controlled with many herbal remedies. More specifically, scientific research is now shedding more light on healing properties of various plants that either control blood sugar (bilberry, salt bush) or treat the side effects of diabetes (ginkgo biloba).

It’s important to realize that high blood sugar is only a symptom – not the cause of diabetes. The real problem is a diet high in carbohydrates and processed foods together with an unhealthy lifestyle. This is why you won’t find the answer to your condition in a pill bottle.

Over 20 million Americans have diabetes and six million of them don’t even know it. Recent estimates suggest that by the year 2050, almost one third of American adults will be diabetic. Don’t fall prey to this condition and take charge of your own well-being by changing what you eat and increasing your exercise.

New study – Lymph node surgery for breast cancer patients proves worthless and harmful

A new study, which is shaking the pillars of mainstream breast cancer care, has found that lymph node surgery for women, who had early breast cancer which had spread to the lymph nodes, did not improve their survival rate or prevent the further spread of cancer to other lymph nodes. The painful procedure of having cancerous lymph nodes removed has long been routine for breast cancer patients.

The discovery turns standard medical practice on its head. Surgeons have been removing lymph nodes from under the arms of breast cancer patients for 100 years, believing it would prolong women’s lives by keeping the cancer from spreading or coming back.

The study, The American College of Surgeons Oncology Group Z0011 trial, which is being published this month in The Journal of the American Medical Association, was conducted at 115 medical centers and included 891 women. The median age was in the mid-50s, and the participants were followed for a median of 6.3 years.

After an initial node biopsy, women were randomly assigned to have 10 or more additional nodes removed or to leave the nodes alone. Over time, two groups had no difference in survival or recurrence.

Study authors Dr. Grant Walter Carlson and Dr. William C. Wood said that the study “definitively showed that axillary lymph node dissection is not beneficial,”

“Survival was independent of lymph node status” the study authors noted.

“Taken together, findings from these [and other] investigators provide strong evidence that patients undergoing partial mastectomy, whole-breast irradiation, and systemic therapy for early breast cancer with microscopic sentinel lymph node metastasis can be treated effectively and safely without axillary node dissection,” they said.

“This is such a radical change in thought that it’s been hard for many people to get their heads around it,” said another study author, Dr. Monica Morrow, chief of the breast service at Sloan-Kettering.

The author of an editorial accompanying the study, Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University professor of surgery Dr. Grant W. Carlson, said: “I have a feeling we’ve been doing a lot of harm (by routinely taking out many nodes).”

Indeed, women in the study who had nodes taken out were far more likely to have complications (70 percent versus 25 percent). Such complications included infections, abnormal sensations and fluid collecting in the armpit, and lymphedema.

Dr. Armando E. Giuliano, the lead author of the study and the chief of surgical oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California, reported that the standard practice of lymph node removal has been so ingrained that “some prominent institutions wouldn’t even take part in (the study).”

Coupled with recent findings about unnecessary mastectomies, and the proven dangers and ineffectiveness of chemo and radiation, the study is yet another indictment of the failed mainstream cancer treatments used in the failed “War on Cancer”. Perhaps someday, mainstream medical science will come full circle and finally realize that clinging to ineffective and harmful treatments, which try to cut out, poison out or burn out the symptoms of cancer, will never cure cancer. A much better idea would be to look first to using nature to address cancer’s root causes and build up immune systems, which are the natural first line of defense against cancer and other illness.

For one example of a natural immune boosting and cancer fighting protocol which has had tremendous success, see:

Discover the secrets of detoxification and experience vibrant health

Do you feel sluggish and low on energy? Toxic substances are all around us and today you’ll learn how to detoxify your body and experience vibrant health.

Because of our modern lifestyle, you’re exposed to more toxins than your body is designed to handle. The air you breathe, the water you drink and the food you eat may contain toxic chemicals. And if waste builds up, we get sick. It stands to reason, then, that detoxification should be your first step to a healthier you. Try the following five tips and this delicate process will put you on the fast track to a better sleep, consistent energy, clear skin, healthy organs, more clarity and a revved-up sex drive:

Fix your gut. Did you know that 70 percent of your immune power resides in your digestive tract? Unfortunately, because of our daily exposure to toxins, our intestinal health is under massive attack. Needless to say, you don’t want that to happen. Eat real food rich in antioxidants and fiber, take probiotics and stay away from pesticides, preservatives, refined sugar and antibiotics.

Hydrate.Drink enough water!” You’ve heard it a million times – and with a good reason. Each one of us is made up of over 70 percent water and that’s why we need to drink enough fluids in order to help acid wastes flow out. And not just any fluids – remember that if you don’t filter your water, your body will experience the negative results.

Detox your mind and spirit. Detoxification is not just about what you drink or eat – it’s about what you think, too! Put some time aside to relax deeply every day to inhibit sympathetic nervous activity. Try meditation and deep breathing and replace online surfing with real-world activities. You’ll feel more focused and enjoy a steady supply of energy.

Get moving. Sooner or later, your tissue will suffocate in their own waste products if you don’t exercise regularly. So move your body (at least 35 minutes a day) and let your blood and lymphatic circulation do their job.

Try sauna. If you’re walking around with toxins in your tissues, you’ll never get a skin that glows. Fortunately, you can always utilize sauna to induce sweating and stimulate a deep cleansing process. The sauna heat releases both chemical and heavy metal toxins under the skin so that they can be purged through respiration – along with various other waste materials. As a result, you’ll experience a level of renewal that is hard to surpass.

Detoxification is as invaluable for our health as the beating of the heart. Maximizing your body’s detoxification capacity will soon bring a healthy domino effect, allowing you to take charge of your own health and well-being.

Use GABA as a calming supplement

Feeling stressed? You`re not alone. In fact, being vaguely stressed, vexed, irritable, anxious and nervous seems to be an increasingly common state in this technological world. To combat this feeling of agitation, depression or unease, many turn to drugs (either prescription or recreational), alcohol, or therapy. But what if simply exercising more and eating a balanced diet, rich in the right kinds of foods and supplements like GABA, could make all the difference?

GABA is short for gamma-aminobutyric acid, and its role in the body is to slow down (calm) the firing nerves in our central nervous systems. It`s a neurotransmitter, and in most of us it should work just fine (although the effects of long-term stressful situations can interfere with natural GABA production, as can certain health conditions). GABA stimulates the pituitary gland to produce the human growth hormone. It`s also responsible for helping us produce those wonderful, mood-elevating endorphins.

Those of us lacking the correct amount of this compound in our bodies might experience manic behavior, anxiety, alcoholism, recklessness or even epileptic seizures. Bipolar disorder or even multiple sclerosis can also be linked to low GABA levels. Other symptoms of GABA deficiency include palpitations, headaches, irritability and decreased libido.

A diet rich in complex carbohydrates is essential for brain-health because they increase glutamine, an amino acid that is required for the formation of GABA. Try to include GABA-friendly foods in your meals and cut excess simple sugars, white flours and refined wheat products. Doing this, plus being active, can raise and maintain your brain`s GABA levels.

Foods that can help include nuts (like cashews and walnuts), certain fish such as halibut, bananas, deep green veggies like spinach and broccoli, beef liver, rice bran and citrus fruits like oranges. Green tea is high in L-theanine and helps boost GABA production naturally while giving you the benefits of a calmer mood, increased clarity and improved concentration with absolutely no side effects.

But what if that`s not enough? Today`s over-planted, impoverished soils produce vitamin and mineral-deficient fruits and vegetables. It takes a lot more of those now to get those USDA minimum daily requirements, unless you grow your own organically. The simpler solution, and the more accurate-dosage, may come from a strongly targeted supplement program.

At this time the jury is still out on just how effective supplements are. Some doctors and researchers claim ingested supplements don`t manage to cross the blood-brain barrier and are therefore a waste of money. It doesn`t seem like there are any notable negative side effects, though (unlike commonly prescribed pharmaceutical anti-anxiety drugs), so careful experimentation with 500-1000 mg once or twice a day may be worth consideration. In any event, always check with you doctor before taking any supplements.

Interval training is ideal for boosting athletic performance and health

Interval training involves alternating short, quick bursts of intense exercise with slower activities. This type of training uses the anaerobic system of the body during the high intensity effort and the aerobic system during the lower intensity intervals. This unique brand of exercise activates the metabolic systems in the body and improves athletic performance as well as overall health.

The anaerobic activity in interval training uses energy that is already stored in the muscles, working without oxygen and producing lactic acid. The aerobic activity uses oxygen to break down the lactic acid and to convert stored carbohydrates into the energy needed to perform the activity. This sets the body to run in high efficiency mode.

Interval training boosts athletic performance because it builds new capillaries in the body. That makes it easier for the body to take in oxygen and deliver it to the muscles. Those muscles thereby develop a higher tolerance to the lactic acid. The heart muscle grows stronger during this process and the end result is improved performance by the cardiovascular system.

Because interval training is repetitive, the body creates an adaptation response that helps it to avoid injuries. Athletes can therefore increase the intensity of their workouts without fear of overtraining because the body is accustomed to the activities. Another benefit of interval training is that more calories are burned during the high intensity portion of the workout. Because the metabolism is raised, the body will begin to burn fat.

Interval training also lowers an athlete`s resting heart rate, allowing him or her to perform any activity in a more relaxed state. The cardiovascular system learns to recover faster, too, which allows athletes to push themselves ever harder. This type of exercise lowers body fat and increases lean muscle. Finally, interval training increases the body`s oxygen consumption for up to forty-eight hours after the workout, and that means that calories continue to burn.

Even non-professional athletes can take advantage of interval training to improve their levels of fitness, and it is easy to get started on a routine. One simple workout is sprinting, with a thirty second work interval followed by a sixty second rest interval. Using a timer, the participant will sprint all out for thirty seconds and then jog or walk for sixty seconds, repeating the routine four or five times. This is great cardiovascular interval training that will greatly contribute to heart health as well as athletic performance.

What are some of the ways you boost your athletic performance?

Want to have a stroke? Keep drinking diet sodas.

According to research presented at the American Stroke Association’s International Stroke Conference 2011 recently held in Los Angeles, drinking diet sodas could dramatically raise your risk of having a vascular event, mainly a stroke.

Specifically, in the large, multi-ethnic Northern Manhattan Study (NOMAS) involving 2,564 people, scientists found people who drank diet sodas every day had a 61 percent higher risk of vascular events than those who reported not drinking these artificially sweetened sodas.

NOMAS, a collaboration of research teams at Columbia University in New York and Miami’s Miller School of Medicine, was started in 1993 to examine stroke incidence and risk factors in an urban and multi-ethnic population. In all, 3,298 participants over 40 years old (with an average age 69) were enrolled in NOMAS through 2001 and these research subjects are still being followed.

At the beginning of the diet soda study, researchers asked NOMAS participants how many and what kind of sodas they drank. Then, using this data, the scientists grouped the research subjects into seven consumption categories: no soda (less than one soda of any kind per month); moderate regular soda only (between soda per month and six per week); daily regular soda (at least one per day); moderate diet soda only; daily diet soda only; moderate diet soda and sometimes regular soda; and daily diet soda with any regular soda consumption.

During an average follow-up of about a decade, participants had experienced 559 vascular events, including ischemic stroke (caused by a blood clot or blocked vessel) and hemorrhagic stroke (caused by rupture of a weakened blood vessel). The research team factored in the participants’ age, sex, race or ethnicity, smoking status, exercise, alcohol consumption and daily caloric intake.

They also took into consideration which people had metabolic syndrome, peripheral vascular disease and heart disease. Taking all of these risk factors into consideration, the increased chance of having a stroke persisted at a rate 48 percent higher for regular diet soda drinkers.

“If our results are confirmed with future studies, then it would suggest that diet soda may not be the optimal substitute for sugar-sweetened beverages for protection against vascular outcomes,” said Hannah Gardener, Sc.D., lead author and epidemiologist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, in a statement to the media.

So the take away common sense message might seem to be this: if you want to lower your risk for stroke and you drink a lot of diet colas, it couldn’t hurt to drink something else. Right?

Wrong, according to the Calorie Control Council, which has come out swinging with a near hysterical attack on the study.

That’s not surprising when you take the time to search and finally locate the tiny fine print at the bottom of the Calorie Control Council’s web site and click on the “about us” link. That page explains the group is an international non-profit association set up specifically to hype the interest of the low-calorie food and beverage industry. According to the website, it “represents manufacturers and suppliers of low-calorie and light foods and beverages, including the manufacturers and suppliers of more than two dozen different alternative sweeteners and other low-calorie ingredients.”

The Calorie Control Council issued a press release dismissing the diet-sodas-linked-to-stroke research because the findings have not been peer reviewed by any independent scientists and the study has not been published in a scientific journal. This criticism makes little sense because the scientists were not claiming to be presenting a peer-reviewed journal article. As anyone who follows scientific conferences knows, the research was presented at the International Stroke Conference poster sessions.

Poster sessions are where preliminary research is presented in the form of an abstract and discussed. Presenting a study at a poster session does not mean the results will not eventually be published or peer reviewed — nor does it mean it is bad science. The Calorie Control Council’s press release also pointed out that Dr. Richard Besser, Chief Health and Medical Editor at ABC News, warned the study was “.. bad because of the behavior that it can induce and the fear that people have. I don’t think people should change behavior based on this study.” In other words, Dr. Besser apparently thinks people changing behavior and trying some other beverage — like water — instead of drinking chemically sweetened diet sodas is somehow something to be feared.

And there was another bizarre argument thrown out by the Calorie Control Council in an attempt to discredit the soda and stroke link research. The group pointed out that the American Heart Association (AHA) sponsored the conference where this poster was presented. And on the AHA website is this statement: “Try non-nutritive sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose or saccharin in moderation. Non-nutritive sweeteners may be a way to satisfy your sweet tooth without adding more calories to your diet. The FDA has determined that non-nutritive sweeteners are safe.”

So the supposed “proof” that the diet soda and stroke study is bogus science is an endorsement by the AHA of chemical sweeteners on the AHA website, according to the Calorie Control Council. But this pro non-nutritive sweeteners endorsement, right or wrong, has nothing whatsoever to do with the findings of the new study under discussion.

The Calorie Control Council press release fails, predictably, to acknowledge the mounting number of studies showing a host of potential dangers from diet sodas. For example, as NaturalNews has covered previously, researchers have linked diet sodas to kidney disease (http://www.naturalnews.com/027482_d…) and the development of type 2 diabetes (http://www.naturalnews.com/025644_d…).

Pediatricians warn about seizures from energy drinks, but not vaccines

It’s big news today: A new report released by conventional pediatricians in the U.S. warns that energy drinks may cause seizures, kidney damage and even death in children. “Across the world there are signs that for some people who consume these drinks, there are side effects,” explained Dr. Steven E. Lipshultz in a Reuters report (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011…). He heads up the department of pediatrics at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.

He adds, “The incidence is low, but in certain groups that pediatricians care for there may be higher risks.”

Hold on a second. There’s a product that causes seizures, kidney damage and even death in a small group of children, and pediatricians are concerned about it?

This comes as a huge surprise because there’s another category of products that also cause seizures, kidney damage and death in a relatively small number of children: Vaccines.

Pediatricians don’t appear to have any interest whatsoever in questioning the safety of vaccines. In fact, they actively promote all sorts of vaccines, even in the complete absence of any sort of truly scientific safety data that would show them to be safe for repeated, long-term consumption.

Did you know, for example, that vaccines in children have never been tested against a non-vaccinated group of children? Did you also know that vaccines are almost never tested to observe side effects beyond a few weeks? And that no tests have ever been done to determine the long-term toxicity of combinations of vaccines such as those given to children every single day?

It seems that whatever products are made by the drug companies are automatically deemed safe by pediatricians. If energy drinks were sold by Big Pharma, they’d be declared “safe for children” at any dose and pediatricians would probably even recommend that children drink them.

See, today’s news isn’t really a story about energy drinks. It’s about the sleight of hand being pulled off by pediatricians: If they can trick you into focusing on the virtually non-existent problems with energy drinks, then you won’t spend much time questioning the safety of vaccines which are orders of magnitude more dangerous to children.

Pediatricians want you to question what your children are drinking, but not what they’re injecting.

Go figure.

Never mind the fact that vaccines contain mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde. Can you imagine the outcry by pediatricians if energy drinks were found to contain trace amounts of mercury and aluminum? The FDA would seize the products and shut down the entire operation. But when those same heavy metals and toxic substances are intentionally added to vaccines and then injected into children, somehow that’s perfectly safe, say the pediatricians. (And yes, even the so-called “mercury-free” vaccines still contain mercury. The mercury-free claim is a marketing gimmick.)

So, do energy drinks really pose a health risk to children and teens? The answer is probably a qualified “yes.” But the real risks must include the bone loss from phosphoric acid, the neurological side effects of aspartame consumption, and the diabetes caused by drinking liquid sugars. You won’t see pediatricians discuss any of those — there’s too much pressure from the food and beverage industries to ask any meaningful questions about the safety of those ingredients.

And so the target of the pediatricians, as usual, becomes the caffeine and the herbal stimulants in these beverages — ingredients such as guarana. That’s what this is all boiling down to: Beware of your children drinking guarana! But have no fear about injecting them with mercury-laden vaccines.

The whole thing is quite idiotic, of course. But that’s par for the course when it comes to conventional pediatricians, who seem to get riled up about all the wrong things. If pediatricians really wanted to make a difference, they should sound the alarm over the toxic chemicals in children’s over-the-counter medicines.

Have you read the ingredients on any of that stuff lately? These “medicines” are loaded with artificial colors and chemical sweeteners like sucralose and aspartame. Many of the implied health benefits of these medicines are dubious at best: Cough syrups, in particular, are a complete joke.

And have you looked at the ingredients of infant formula lately? One popular product is made with over 40 percent corn syrup solids! (http://www.naturalnews.com/029863_S…).

The pediatrics community, not surprisingly, remains silent on all these. You’re not supposed to notice the chemicals in your children’s medicines, nor the processed sugars in your infant formula. Pay no attention to the mercury in your children’s vaccines. Don’t worry about the abuse of prescription antibiotics.

No, you’re supposed to be alarmed about energy drinks. And only energy drinks. And why? Because that’s what pediatricians tell you to be alarmed about.

You should be very, very afraid if your child drinks a can of Red Bull. But pay no heed if they’re shooting up with mercury, aluminum and viral fragments harvested from diseased animals. At least with Red Bull, there are no actual bull parts in the drink. …as opposed to vaccines, where there’s plenty of B.S. mixed right into the formula.
